Construction starts on a rare gem at Hope Island Resort

A rare gem is taking shape in the luxurious surrounds of Hope Island Resort, poised to become one of its most prestigious residential land releases amid a dwindling supply of homesites on the Gold Coast’s north shore.Construction has begun on The Gallery, the newest neighbourhood within the gated Hope Island Resort which is home to the exclusive Links Hope Island golf course. The land release, set across 3.8 hectares off Peter Senior Drive, comprises a private enclave of 46 lots nestled between the Links golf course and the Saltwater Creek nature reserve.“This is an extremely rare residential land release as there aren’t many vacant lots remaining within the Hope Island Resort, particularly close to the Links clubhouse,” says Tony Hymus, marketing agent for The Gallery.“The Gallery represents an opportunity to live in one of the last residential neighbourhoods within the Hope Island Resort.”The 46 homesites range in size from 540sqm to 833sqm with 16 overlooking the Saltwater Creek nature reserve and the remainder, largely north-facing blocks, offering views over the lakes and golf course. Prices range from $545,000 to $1 million.Mr Hymus is expecting strong buyer interest in The Gallery which benefits from all the security and lifestyle amenities of Hope Island Resort.“Homesites are set away from existing homes and offer an even greater level of privacy,” he said.“This is lifestyle buying at its best and buyers within The Gallery may also become members of the exclusive Links Hope Island golf club and all the benefits and privileges that offers.“Hope Island more broadly has become a major drawcard for Gold Coast property buyers because of its proximity to the M1 and a range of retail and leisure facilities within close reach.“However, the supply of vacant homesites is diminishing.”The recent opening of Hope Island Marketplace, a $65 million retail and commercial hub, has been the latest catalyst for growth in the suburb.Earlier this year, property researcher Urbis noted that strength of demand for residences in Hope Island was also leading to an undersupply of luxury apartments in the suburb.Hope Island Resort remains a standout in the Gold Coast property market thanks to its status as an Integrated Tourist Resort. Under the FIRB regulations, this permits the sale of residential dwellings to foreign buyers without the usual restrictions.Construction work at The Gallery, currently under way by civil contractor Shadforths, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
