Gold Coast developer spearheads iPad campaign

A leading Gold Coast developer is using an innovative marketing tool to appeal to buyers – an iPad application that allows users to view apartments in 3D via an interactive touch screen. The app replaces the traditional physical building model found in onsite sales displays and is free for anyone to download to their iPad or iPad mini via the iTunes App Store.Developer Amalgamated and Morris Property Group is using the tool to supplement its traditional newspaper and online advertising models and is trialling it on its $70 million Synergy tower in Broadbeach.By downloading the App, prospective purchasers will have access to real time information about the project, including current pricing and availability. The app also showcases an interactive representation of the project’s location, recreational spaces and its 137 apartments – including their colour schemes and panoramic views.Amalgamated and Morris Property Group development manager Brodie Lister said the new technology had superseded the bulky physical model, making the app an efficient selling tool for the developer and an excellent tool for those considering purchasing in the Project.“We envisage that many of our buyers will research the project for some time before they contact a salesperson, and when they do, they will have an intimate knowledge of what has gone on,” Mr Lister said.“This is truly the way of the future when it comes to selling property off the plan - because the apartments can’t be seen in physical form the app aims to give buyers a sense of being there, able to touch and see.“While it doesn’t replace sitting down and pouring over building plans, it has all the information a buyer needs to understand what the project will be when it is completed.”Mr Lister said the developer was using the app to target young professionals and out-of-town investors who were often savvy with new forms of technology. It is also being used to cater to an emerging buyer demographic that demands access to accurate up to the minute information.“We are getting some amazing reach through the app, which is exposing the project to markets and locations we wouldn’t traditionally enter,” said Mr Lister.“We’ve had downloads from as far as Yugoslavia and Russia which is truly phenomenal.“It certainly provides a new platform for us to deliver all the information perspective buyers are searching for.”CBRE Gold Coast project marketing director Chris Litfin, who is marketing Synergy, said the iPad app was the new age of off-the-plan selling and he expected other developers would follow suit.“The tool has been a great success.  It has allowed us as a sales force to consolidate all of our material onto one portable electronic device which is incredibly convenient and user friendly,” said Mr Litfin.“No matter the circumstance, we now have a quality presentation that can be delivered at any time or place and we think this will go a long way in achieving sales.”And for some prospective buyers, they can download the App on their iPad and go through a detailed Project presentation without speaking to a salesperson.Mr Litfin said as well as being information rich, the app was constantly ‘live’ and could be updated instantaneously.“One of the really nifty things about the app is that it has details of each unit’s size, price and car park allocation managed from one central back-end database,” said Mr Litfin.“The Synergy app is constantly updated with new information such as the selling status of an apartment, which is a helpful tool for buyers, the developer and the multiple agents working on the project.”Synergy’s two-bedroom, two-bathroom units are priced from just $389,000 while the recently added three-bedroom apartment option starts at $650,000.Apartments from the fourth floor offer city skyline or ocean views and residents will have access to a heated outdoor pool, gymnasium and ground floor retail precinct. To find out more about Synergy, download the free application through the iTunes App Store by searching “Synergy RT” on your iPad.
