Halcyon begins $100m Lakeside community

Developer Halcyon has commenced site works at its $100 million Halcyon Lakeside over 50s community in Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast.Halcyon has started an earthworks schedule which will see house construction start in March or April and first home owners move in by the third quarter of next year.Halcyon Lakeside, the third Sunshine Coast project for Halcyon, is taking shape on a 13 ha parcel within the masterplanned Parklakes 2 community.Project director Chris Carley said the commencement of Halcyon Lakeside was well timed following the settlement of the final homes at its sister community, Halcyon Landing, which is also at Bli Bli.“We are pleased to continue our presence on the Sunshine Coast and in particular within Bli Bli which has proven a sought after location for our market,” he said.“It is exciting to see activity onsite as it signals the beginning of a wonderful new community.“We have already seen significant interest from prospective home owners and this will only be boosted with construction underway.“The surrounding area is a hive of activity with work progressing on Parklakes 2 so it is an exciting time to be moving forward onsite.”Mr Carley said Halcyon Lakeside would be the company’s first lakefront project on the Sunshine Coast.“Our Lakeside project will provide buyers with more choice in a growing area that is renowned for its relaxed lifestyle, great amenities and popularity with retirees,” he said.“Home owners at Halcyon Lakeside will be given freedom and independence in an inclusive, low-maintenance community that optimises beautiful views of the lake and parklands.”Set against a bushland backdrop, the site features undulating hills and 450 metres of lake frontage.Division 9 Councillor Steve Robinson said the project was a coup for Bli Bli.“Halcyon Lakeside is another welcome addition to the growing Bli Bli community,” Cr Robinson said.“The project will provide diversity in the suburb’s housing options and meet demand for quality, affordable homes for seniors.“It’s great to see the project going ahead at the hands of a developer which has forged a strong and enduring presence in the area.”Like all Halcyon communities, Halcyon Lakeside’s homes will feature superior energy ratings and the community will include an extensive recreational precinct.Halcyon Lakeside will feature a variety of house types and sizes with prices expected to start from less than $400,000 and ranging up to $700,000 for an exclusive ‘grand’ series of homes.Established in 2004, Halcyon has also completed Halcyon Parks in Caloundra, Halcyon Waters at Hope Island on the Gold Coast and most recently, Halcyon Landing at Bli Bli.
