Launch of $200 million master-planned Sunshine Coast community

The Sunshine Coast’s largest private development, the $200 million master-planned community The Cove, had recently held its much-anticipated launch.

Located in the heart of Pelican Waters, The Cove, a luxury residential community developed by the renowned, fourth generation Henzell Property Group, will feature a range of 220 apartments and terrace homes.

The first stage to be developed – the Corsica Residences – will comprise 36 two and three-bedroom apartments and 15 three-bedroom terrace homes priced from $549,000.

Mclean Henzell, Managing Director of Henzell Property Group, said the recent approval from the Sunshine Coast Council had paved the way for the community’s exciting launch.

It will mark the final instalment in the evolution of the Pelican Waters community which his family has been developing for over 30 years.

“We’ve been meticulously designing the latest instalment of this iconic community, consulting with the local community and council to ensure that what we bring to market will be very well received,” said Mr Henzell.

“After developing Pelican Waters for over 30 years, we were delighted to bring the last offering to the market over the weekend.”

The community is tailored to appeal to local downsizers and owner-occupiers and has already been met with great interest, receiving in excess 100 enquires prior to launch.

Thirteen of the 36 apartments in stage one have already been purchased by local residents, highlighting the strong demand for new apartments in Pelican Waters and the strength of the local, downsizer market.

Sales and Marketing Director of Henzell Property Group, Marcus Muir, said he expected the exceptional level of local interest to translate into the Brisbane and interstate downsizer markets as the project was released

“There is certainly great pent up demand for people to move to the Sunshine Coast, so we expect once borders open there will be soaring interest,” he said.

“We’ve recently opened our on-site sales display to coincide with the launch of the project and we look forward to offering prospective buyers a glimpse into the luxury apartments on offer.”

A range of floor plans are available, allowing residents to select a home suited to their personal tastes and preferences.

The Sunshine Coast-based, globally spanning O.G.E Group Architects has designed the full masterplan, drawing upon their local and international experience.

Director of O.G.E Group Architects John Robertson said the Henzell Property Group have gone above and beyond what typical developments offer in order to create a true resort-inspired destination for Pelican Waters residents.

“There has been great consideration to the overall master-plan feel of the project. In working with the Henzell Property Group we have designed beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces where residents can enjoy going for walks amongst the safe, community-orientated community,” said Mr Robertson.

“In my 20 years’ experience in the industry I’ve never worked with a company so committed to offering the highest quality across all aspects of the development, from the spacious verandas that allow for great natural lighting and ventilation, to the range of outdoor recreation spaces.”

Future stages to be launched within The Cove include commercial spaces, restaurants and a grocer, adding to the pre-existing Pelican Waters Town Centre and Marina which offers a range of health, medical and education facilities.

Apartments offer ample storage space, expansive kitchens, large master-bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes and living spaces designed for entertaining and unwinding.

Penthouse apartments will offer 3.0-meter-high ceilings with premium tiling, furnishing and fixtures including the latest Bosch appliances.

Luxury apartments, which range from 143 to 261sqm begin at $549,000 with terrace homes up to 267sqm priced from $725,000.

The Cove is situated on a 2.7-hectare waterfront site boasting north-facing views to the Pumicestone Passage and Caloundra as well as views out to the Glasshouse Mountains, Bribie Island and Moreton Island.

The master-planned project is set to be completed in 2025.
