Sales tower at $220m over 50's high-rise

Victoria Towers over 50s apartment project at Southport has reached $90 million in sales as retirees continue to opt for the convenience of inner-city living. To date, 155 units have transacted in the $220 million tower in the heart of Southport CBD.A spokesperson for the developer said they anticipated sales would accelerate through spring and into summer.“Most buyers are self-funded retirees who are making their first step into retirement living,” they said.“They see Victoria Towers as an attractive and convenient alternative to retirement villages which tend to be further from services and amenities.”The spokesperson said the developer, City Plan Partners, was offering generous incentives to prospective buyers.“Sales subsidies are appealing to astute buyers,” they said.“In addition, the local housing market has improved which has enabled people to sell their existing homes easier and free up more capital.“These factors are making it more attractive to transition into retirement living.”The spokesperson said recent buyers were predominantly from the Gold Coast and Brisbane, but a marketing push into Sydney was generating interest from across New South Wales. They said the onsite aged care facility Nobel Life was trading well and is set for expansion, with the second floor to open by the end of 2015.“Nobel Life has played a vital role at Victoria Towers – it means that at the appropriate time, residents can transition to aged care without moving out of the building,” they said.“Importantly, partners of aged care patients can live within the same building.”Victoria Towers’ recreational facilities include an open-air bowling green, library, barbecues and dining terrace, lap pool, sauna, steam room and spa. Each apartment at Victoria Towers has a 24/7 connection to emergency support, while on-site management ensures the premises are maintained and operated to a high standard.A range of two and three-bedroom apartments are available from 113sqm to 155sqm and are priced from $460,000.The display office and apartments are open Monday to Friday from 10am – 3pm and on the weekend by appointment.
