MONACO PROPERTY GROUP UNVEILS PLANS FOR 'NALU': A NEW ERA OF ULTRA-LUXURY BEACHFRONT LIVING ON THE GOLD COAST

Monaco Property Group has moved swiftly to secure development approval for a transformative new chapter at one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic coastal sites. The group has lodged plans with the Gold Coast City Council to redevelop Nalu – formerly known as Nobby’s Outlook –  into an exclusive collection of 46 ultra-luxury beachfront residences.

Following the acquisition of the iconic 7,238sqm absolute beachfront site for $70 million, Monaco Property Group is poised to deliver an outstanding new residential community that blends architectural elegance, wellness, and natural beauty. Perched at the base of Nobby’s Hill and offering an unrivalled 80 metres of beach frontage, Nalu is designed to celebrate the unique spirit and lifestyle of the Gold Coast.

Designed in collaboration with award-winning firms Koichi Takada Architects, BDA Architecture, and LDG Landscape Architecture, "Nalu" – meaning "wave" in Hawaiian – reflects the development's seamless integration with its natural surroundings. It embodies the rhythm and tranquillity of the ocean, whilst creating a sense of calm and connection for its residents.

The development features a highly articulated four-storey design, with a partial fifth level hosting an exclusive penthouse collection – each complete with private pools and dedicated wellness retreats. Residences will range from expansive 231sqm layouts to palatial homes exceeding 1,000sqm, offering a diverse array of lifestyle options.

At the heart of the project is a world-class 2,000sqm wellness, gym, and pool precinct, alongside a private concierge service, delivering a lifestyle focused on simplicity, health, and wellbeing. Sustainable building practices and environmentally sensitive landscaping have been thoughtfully incorporated to ensure the preservation and enhancement of the site's natural beauty.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to craft something truly special,” said Jonathan Grasso, co-founder of Monaco Property Group. “We’re creating more than just residences – we’re building a lasting legacy that respects the past while ushering the site into a new era of considered, luxurious coastal living.”

Originally developed in the 1970s, Nobby’s Outlook was a cherished holiday destination for locals and visitors alike. In 2019, the property underwent a refurbishment and was renamed Nalu, serving as a boutique short- and long-term rental destination.

Both Mr Grasso and fellow co-founder Jay McPhee intend to reside within the new development, a testament to their personal commitment to the quality, vision, and long-term success of the project.

“Our design embraces the site’s dual treasures – the golden shoreline and the lush rise of Nobby’s Hill,” added Mr Grasso. “Every element has been curated to harmonise with the land, creating a seamless blend of modern elegance and natural immersion.”

In addition to offering an exceptional living experience, Nalu is expected to create significant employment opportunities during its construction phase and contribute positively to the ongoing revitalisation and prestige of the Miami and Nobby’s Beach precincts.

Construction is anticipated to commence in early 2026, pending council approval, with project completion expected by late 2028.

Nalu is set to become a new architectural icon on the Gold Coast –  a place where ocean, nature, and prestige converge to deliver a one-of-a-kind coastal lifestyle for generations to come.
