Steer Developments to deliver first-of-its-kind luxury hotel to Palm Beach

Development approval has been granted for an iconic Palm Beach landmark; this time, it’s for a ‘first of its kind’ hotel in the area.

The code-compliant development application was approved for a striking new $120 million project comprising 126 rooms across six storeys, with state-of-the-art amenities, including a rooftop pool, gym, spa, and in-house dining.

Earmarked for a site at 1081-1089 Gold Coast Highway in Palm Beach, the hotel is set to deliver over 2,000sqm of boutique architectural excellence to meet the desires of a lifestyle-focused demographic.

The architecture and amenities in the hotel certainly follow Gold Coast-based luxury property group, Steer Developments, visionary ethos of designing and delivering high-quality projects.

“I believe, from an architectural perspective, the depth of the built form and how it makes you feel is a big part of the process,” said Robert Steer, head of Steer Developments, “Aesthetics will always catch the eye.”

“We wanted to create a space that makes our guests feel something special. It’s about the entire experience. A perfect blend of beauty, luxury, and premium quality with a calm, lush, and peaceful serenity.”

Mr Steer says that the objective is quite simple, yet important – with every development he works on, his focus is to enhance and serve the community,

“Personally, my work is always about identifying a need and then finding a way for the need to be met,” said Mr Steer.

Now travel is back to normal and stimulating tourism, Palm Beach Hotel will help meet the need for more accessible offerings in the Southern Gold Coast for domestic and international travellers.

“While the northern end of the Gold Coast is flooded with hotels, the southern end is ripe for a luxury offering. Along with Mondrian set to open in Burleigh, the timing is perfect for an additional prestige hotel at Palm Beach,” said Mr Steer.

With the Southern Gold Coast currently undergoing a renascence, the location of Palm Beach Hotel is surrounded by the best of what the coast has to offer, with a vibrant dining and shopping scene and a mix of trendy cafes and restaurants all within walking distance to white sandy beaches.

“We have always appreciated the Gold Coast’s lifestyle and are excited to contribute to its beauty and make an everlasting impact on the southern Gold Coast,” said Mr Steer.

The hotel will be delivered in one stage, with construction set to commence in Q4 2023 and completion estimated for Q1 2025.
